Hi, I am a Gleason 7 prostate cancer victim in my 5th week of radio therapy. I hold a Masters racing licence and 2 1/2 years back rode the UCI masters Worlds Time Trial in Austria. I've just finished reading THE HAPPINESS OF PURSUIT. What a book! One of the best and most inspirational I have ever read. Thank you Davis for such a wonderful and positive story, not just your story but also your dad's who was (and for me, still is) an inspiration to all cancer victims, especially prostate cancer. Ever since my oncologist gave me the go ahead, I ride about 50 or 60km every day and I am training to make a return to racing in October, all being well. I'm 66 years old.

I really would like to become a member, could you please let me know how can I get involved in your organization? My daughter Maria Luisa was diagnosed with a Rabdomiosarcoma when she was 2 1/2 years old, she is a living miracle, now she is 19 and studying hard at UTSA to become a doctor. My wife Nohemi was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in August 2010, she is another living miracle, she finished her treatment 3 months ago and now working hard to get back in shape. I love to ride my bicycle, now training very hard to be ready to race.

Thank you for bringing this wonderful group into my life (CCC) - all those years ago, without whom my late husband, Allan Thomson, would not have had the support he so needed to help him during his struggles with cancer. Cannot thank you enough.

Although its only been 3 years with my Brain Cancer (BC) its been GREAT! It has pushed me to the outer most edge and made me a better person. Just like being on the bicycle, the harder you train and push yourself through the HILLS and mountains the better all around cyclist one can be. The same aspects goes into your cancer diagnoses: if you can withstand, muscle through, or compensate the breaking points you are half way there! Just be strong.

How or where can I get some input about the cancer I'm fighting? I signed up for the daily emails but very few have actually talked specifics about prostate cancer. Can I unsubscribe? Thanks

Cancer free in 2.5 more years! Found CCC by Googling prostate and cycling. Can anyone shed light on the topic of riding post prostectomy? Special gear or friendly saddles?

Fantastic work and fantastic people CCC you should all be very proud of yourselves for the support which goes on here. I'm currently two thirds through BEP. I was diagnosed with testicular cancer at the end of January. Together we can all beat cancer.

I have 'just' found this site and must say it is "just-what-I-need". I have a Easy Rider Recumbent and my prostate cancer is throught he lymph nodes and growing rapidly, my cancer is not normal, mine is rapid growth: I was so afraid my cycling days may be over, so glad to hear that cycling will only help not hinder my lifespan: So looking forward to further knowledge concerning the subject: would love to do a cross-country prior to leaving this life... Thank You: Andy

I was diagnosed with stomach/esophageal cancer on June 3rd, 2008. Since then, I underwent extensive chemo, a nine hour surgery (a year ago October 27th) radiation, and then more chemo. The cancer was t Stage 4, and I finished treatments last May. In July, my scans and biopsy showed that I was clean. It was around this time that I started going to the gym and working with Mary Kane, a triathlete trainer. What I've really taken to is cycling, and I recently entered - my first event - is the Solvang Century, which occurs on March 13th, 2010. I found this site and want to connect with other riders who are also cancer survivors, especially if they are in the Los Angeles area.

I'm a breast and lung cancer survivor planning a awareness ride in the summer of 2010 to raise money for research. I've been a bike rider most of my life but have never done a long distance trip. Going east to west and possibly back east again if I can do it.
